  • Exercise re-branded

Thanks to those of you who responded to the question I posed in my last post: What term could we substitute for the word exercise that would be more inviting than the pain and suffering we now associate it with?

One of the more lively ideas came from one of my long time mentors, Jim Hornickel of Bold New Directions, who travels the globe leading corporate trainings. Although he is on the road most days, Jim still finds time (i.e., makes it a priority) to incorporate an hour and 15 minutes of physical activity into his daily schedule.

Anyway, Jim thinks of exercise as “Energy Time” as in “It’s Energy Time, Baby !!!“. Makes a lot of sense, don’t you think?

One of the nice things about being physically activity is that we usually feel more energized after (and during) a workout than when we started.

In this sense, exercise is a true energy creator rather than a drainer.
We’re talking here about the perfect antidote to overcoming inertia.

The next time you need an infusion of energy, consider the many benefits that will flow your way when you ratchet up your movement. As an added bonus, you’ll also get a nice lift in your mood along the way.

Who could ask for anything more?

Alright, I’m off to get some ‘energy time‘. Hope you will get some too!
