First things first
Anticipating our needs for the future (and planning for them) is essential for success. True achievement rarely happens without some deliberate effort on our part.
While we should be ‘in the moment’ as much as possible (I’ll say more about mindfulness in another post), our survival depends on our ability to look ahead, do some cost-benefit calculus, and follow through on actions consistent with our goals.
Surviving is good. Thriving is even better.
If you really want to thrive today and tomorrow, make sure the things that matter most are high priority items on your schedule.
When we’re driven by our highest values, our follow through is more likely to happen.
